Trail Blazers Street Jam

USAtournaments|   July 11, 2008

Over the past four years, the Trail Blazers Street Jam in Portland, Ore., has grown to become the best representation of Portland’s diverse basketball scene. In just a few days, elite ballers to young upstarts making up over 500 teams, will gather outside the Rose Garden Arena to battle it out, 3-on-3-style on 50 courts for an entire weekend.

The main competition features teams bracketed by skill level, age, height and gender (coed matchups are available). Games are losers outs to 16 points (or 25 minutes running clock, whichever comes first), with two’s and one’s.

Aside from the 3-on-3 action, there is a whole slate of events, including a three-point shootout, dunk, and half-court shooting contests.

Maybe the best part of the tournament is that it is all for a good cause as proceeds benefit Special Olympics Oregon. Last summer’s Trail Blazer Street Jam alone raised over $80,000!

Join us on Saturday July 19th and Sunday July 20th outside the Rose Garden Arena for Portland’s finest 3-on-3 competition. The festival is free for spectators and there will be tons of music, food and drink all day long. The Trail Blazers Street Jam is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. both mornings.

Great post on a fabulous summer b-ball event! This is about the most fun a hoopster can have in Portland in the summertime.

I’ve been at this event for the last two years and it’s absolutely fantastic. This year we’re coming back strong - team Hoosiers baby!

I like how Team “Come Get Some” has unis and the other squad can’t even decide on one color: purple, black, pick one!
