BallersNetwork.com – this is where players live. Come to Tournaments section to learn about some of the world’s best official runs and how you can join.

The theme for the inaugural Charleston Classic tournament is “new”: New tournament, new arena and new names. Some of the players in this tournament – Dionte Christmas, Charles Jenkins, Jermaine Johnson, David Kool, Kevin Langford, Courtney Pigram, Keith Rivers and Mark Yelovich – may not ring familiar to fans across the country, but they are players who will no doubt be major contributors, not only to their teams, but within their respective conferences as well.

The tournament will be the first set of games played at the College of Charleston’s new Carolina First Center. The brand new 5,000-seat arena will feature 4,000 chair back seats with approximately 1,000 bench seats for students. Seating is on two levels, with 3,500 on the lower level and 1,500 on the upper level.

The three-day spectacle features eight teams: College of Charleston, Clemson, East Tennessee State, Hofstra, Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, Temple, TCU and Western Michigan. Two of the teams, Clemson and Temple, played in the 2007-08 NCAA Tournament.

Each team will compete in one game per day, advancing through a bracket-tournament format. The two teams that remain undefeated throughout the tournament will face off in a championship match Sunday.
