The Best Of Maryland Basketball Tournament began in 1998 and was the brainchild of Damascus High School coach Steve Pisarski. The tournament began with the best teams in the state of Maryland but has evolved to include some of the best teams throughout the country.
As one of the premier girls high school basketball showcases in the country, the Best Of Maryland Basketball Tournament had a record 126 Division 1 schools in attendance last year. With the tournament entering its 12th year, the two day competition has grown in popularity and recognition, providing great exposure for kids to not only Division I programs, but also to DII and DIII programs as well. To date, over 180 players have gone on to receive basketball scholarships.
