Midday Madness Cannot Be Missed

BallersNetwork.com - this is where players live. Come to the Runs section to learn about some of the world’s best hoop leagues and how you can join.

Midday Madness hits 10 cities across the UK in the lead up to the main Midnight Madness events every summer. The events provide a full day of basketball action and represent the first stage of the Midnight Madness competition for ballers aged 16+.

Male and female players are invited to step up and “show & prove” to the scouts on hand that they have what it takes to ball above all in full court 5-on-5 pick up basketball action. Impress the scouts by consistently displaying your strengths in one of the areas they are looking for (shooting, rebounding, defense, passing, hustle, ball handling, athleticism, ball penetration and leadership), and earn a place on the Elite Court, where you get to go head to head with the best players in attendance on the day.

Once on the Elite Court, players are put into balanced teams and scored individually by the Ball Without Bias (BWB) computerized stats system, which evaluates players on their strengths and weaknesses while promoting and rewarding exciting play. BWB is not just about how many times you put the ball in the bucket! To score well on BWB, ballers have to play fundamentally sound, well-rounded team basketball as it measures your whole game (shooting, rebounding, passing, defense, etc.) - with the highest rewards for teams that consistently win.

On the Elite Court players are competing for a place on the leader board, which details who the top scoring players are on the BWB system. The leader board is updated continuously throughout Elite Court play, and the name of the game for all players is to make sure you are amongst the top 10 by the end of play. The top 10 players at the end of the day are rewarded with a “Golden Ticket” that secures them a place in the all-important Midnight Madness Regional Qualifier, taking them one step closer to making the Finals in August.

For the under 16s, Midday Madness offers free coaching clinics delivered by MM Ambassadors, teaching core fundamentals in a fun-filled environment, with an emphasis on introducing young players to the skills and drills they can use year round to improve their games.

The whole event is FREE and all players get a tournament t-Shirt, making Midday Madness an event you can’t miss if you love the game and are based in the UK.  For more information, check out www.midnight-madness.com.
