- Best run: You can find the best run between 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday at Rolfs Sports Recreation Center.
- Best player: Don’t want to start bragging rights.
- Best court: The best court on campus is any of the three courts at Rolfs.
- Best intramural squad: Yet to be determined
- When/where you can play late night: At the University of Notre Dame, both of the Rec Centers (Rolfs & Rockne Memorial) are open until midnight. But, the courts at both locations are packed with ballers from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM during the week.
- Men’s varsity: Coming into the 2008-09 season, the University of Notre Dame men’s team was ranked #9 in the AP Preseason Top 25 poll. Currently, they are eighth in the Big East Conference (3-3 in Big East Play; 12-5 overall), which is the toughest conference in the nation, sending eight teams to the Top 25. On the court, the Fighting Irish are led by the defending Big East Player of the Year, Luke Harangody (Jr.), who was also named a Preseason 1st Team All-American. They have a strong backcourt in returning starters Kyle McAlarney (Sr.) and Tory Jackson (Jr.). Rounding out the starting five are small forward Ryan Ayers (Sr.) and power forward Zach Hillesland (Sr.). From the sidelines, they are led by Coach Mike Brey, the returning Big East Coach of the Year. Expectations for this year’s team are very high.
- Women’s varsity: The University of Notre Dame women’s team (currently #13 in the AP Top 25 Poll) has started out the 2008-09 season with great aspirations. They are currently coming of a Sweet Sixteen appearance in last year’s NCAA Tournament, losing to the eventual championship team, Tennessee. They have started off this season at a great pace of 15-2. The Irish are led by senior Lindsay Schrader, juniors Erica Williamson, Ashley Barlow, Melissa Lechlitner, and sophomore Becca Bruszewski.
