Week 7 Results
Team Andy 48, Nimble Dividends 44
Player of the Game: Andy Lee (23 points)
Story: Without big Demetrius Warrick, Team Andy needed someone to step up against the feisty Nimble Dividends. And who ended up coming through when it mattered except for Andy Lee himself. With the team named after him, and with his experience as a former League champion, his all-around performance prevented a stunning upset.
Gaza Strippers 64, Reckless Disregard 30
Player of the Game: Hasan Zulfiqar (19 points)
Story: Spring Break lasts for two weeks in Peter Wasdin’s world, and his team couldn’t compete without him on the floor even when big Ray Brown was at 50% with a sprained ankle. Hasan Zulfiqar ran the floor all game, and his point guards regularly found him for easy lay-ups and open shots.
Man to Manslaughter 33, Basketpalsgraf 27
Player of the Game: Tommy Forr (17 points, 7-11 FTs)
Story: Without Conor Lamb, Man to Manslaughter relied upon extra-stringy defense and a stellar performance from Tommy Forr to grind out a win against Basketpalsgraf. The 1Ls, to their credit, held their own defensively, but they had no answer on the offensive end to counter Tommy on the other end.
12(b)76ers 38, Expansion Team 18
Player of the Game: Bill Mongan (15 points, 9 rebounds, 4 blocks)
Story: This game had the makings of a huge upset… until Bill Elder tore his ACL late in the first half. After he left the game, 12(b)76ers took advantage by outscoring their opponents 22-4 to close the game.
LLMs 44, Speed Racers 41
Player of the Game: Alhassane Barry (13 points, 5 steals)
Story: With the exception of Corey Dickey (16 points), Speed Racers couldn’t get anyone else going on the offensive end partially due to the fact that they couldn’t leave any one player in the game long enough to get warmed up. The LLMs, on the other hand, had a smaller bench and a less diluted attack that proved sufficient to squeeze out the win.
