Week 5 Results

Reckless Disregard 76, Expansion Team 31
Player of the Game: Peter Wasdin (32 pts, 7 rbds, 8 blks, 6 stls)
Story: Reckless Disregard jumped out to a 30 point halftime lead by turning open court steals into fast break lay-ups.

Basketpalsgraf 51, Nimble Dividends 34
Player of the Game: Joel Lin (14 pts, 5 asts)
Story: Nimble Dividends had nobody on the bench to give the starters a breather, and Basketpalsgraf took full advantage by going full throttle from start to finish.

12(b)76ers 46, LLMs 23
Player of the Game: John Woo, Ron Tanner, Jordan Schneider (10 pts each)
Story: The 1Ls don’t give up lay-ups, and the LLMs (besides Stanley Kuo, 16 pts) couldn’t hit anything from outside.

Man to Manslaughter 46, Team Andy 43
Player of the Game: Conor Lamb (18 pts)
Story: This back and forth thriller could have went either way, but the steady shot of Conor Lamb went in more often than not.  Also, his sharp shooting forced Demetrius Warrick to step out and contest which led to ample opportunities for Man to Manslaughter to get offensive rebounds.

Standings & Rankings

1. Man to Manslaughter (4-0)
They beat the second and third ranked teams already this season, but they are up for a challenge this week, without Tommy Forr, against a hot 12(b)76ers team.

2. Gaza Strippers (3-1)
BYE WEEK

3. Team Andy (2-2)
They gave Man to Manslaughter their best shot and still couldn’t come out with the win. That’s the difference between the best and the rest, but this team feels like it is still making progress with a few weeks left until the playoffs.

4. Reckless Disregard (3-1)
MVP front-runner Peter Wasdin outscored his team’s opponents by lonesome, but don’t let that fool you into thinking this is a one-man show. This team has shown balance and chemistry throughout the season.

5. 12(b)76ers (2-2)
Their chance to put a blemish on the record of the lone undefeated team in the league is this Friday, and they are salivating at the opportunity to finally get a quality win this season.

6. LLMs (2-2)
This team is just not the same without big Tom Van Hoof patrolling the middle for blocks, rebounds, and lay-ups. They hope his flu passes soon because there is no cure for their bad shooting.

7. Basketpalsgraf (2-2)
Obviously, their defense is winning them some games, and their offense has shown signs of improvement. They are going to have to put it together this Friday to beat Reckless Disregard.

8. Nimble Dividends (1-3)
They have a great opportunity to get a win this week against winless Speed Racers, but that will be impossible if the majority of their team doesn’t show up for the game.

9. Expansion Team (1-3)
This team is not very effective in transition. If they can slow the game down and limit possessions against Team Andy, they might be able to shock the world and come out victorious.

10. Speed Racers (0-4)
