Baller Profile: Sergi López

Sergi López is another member of the B-Squad since 2000, as he tells us: “I’ve always loved to play on the playgrounds, ever since I was a kid. We used to play in the summer at “Roser”, a playground where we still play sometimes with the B-Squad. When I was 14 or 15 I started to play some 3on3 tournaments in the area of Barcelona and my hometown Vic. In 2000 I met Masju and DaFlow (founders of the B-Squad) and we became teammates. It’s still an ongoing story, with a nice chapter this summer when we played at Rodney Park in Brooklyn with ballers like Bobbito García.”
In the pro basketball, Sergi remembers the 2004/2005 season when his team Vic, promoted from EBA league to LEB-2 league (4th to 3rd category in Spanish pro basketball): “I wasn’t playing many minutes, but we won the Catalan league and got that promotion to LEB-2. The group of players that formed that squad was excellent. Most of them are still very good friends of mine.”
