Coming Up I Admired: My Father

My Basketball Moment: My very first game in college at Drexel I hit six threes to lead my team to victory against the University of Penn. Penn’s campus is right next to ours, so it was a huge deal to beat them.

    Gerald’s jump shot was awesome to behold, but once defenses saw that he could be deadly from the outside, and adjusted, his shot began to desert him freshman year. Apparently he worked very hard that summer and in his sophomore year he introduced some very aggressive moves to the basket. Predictably, as defenses began to lay off him a bit to protect against the drive, his shot started to return, and he ended sophomore year much improved. He seemed to become a much better defensive player too, but I think you have to do that playing for Coach James “Bruiser” Flint. If you don’t play defense, you don’t play.
